The case

DSV Solutions provides transport and logistics services in Belgium. They have a 35.000m2 warehouse in Puurs, centrally located in Belgium. We had been servicing their gas-fired air heaters for two years, sacrificing a few units each year to get at least half of them operating again. The 2.4MW existing system was end of life and outdated. Several options were proposed and in the end the building owners (CBRE) and DSV Solutions opted for a future-proof Air Source CO2 heat pump.

The system

The low GWP (1) and ODP (0) refrigerant, R744, used in the heat pump was a clear choice in line with their long-term vision. 1.5MW of thermal capacity is installed for the warehouse and offices combined. Mozaïek Engineering designed and installed a new heat network in the warehouse, heat sink system, electrical main panels, BMS and integration of the existing office radiators and hot water production.
